Did You Rest Well?

This morning as I was doing my devotions, I read Psalm 127:2.  It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.  I began to think about how many times we have all had sleepless nights, due to worry.  How many times are we so distraught by something that is completely out of our control, that we are not able to get the rest that we need.  As I read this, I was reminded that there is no place for worry in the life of the child of God.  God’s desire is not that we sit up half the night worried about things, or get up early worried.  His desire is that I might trust in Him.  His desire is that because of my complete trust in Him, I would be able to sleep through the night.  As we awake after a good night’s rest, how much more refreshed are we?  Aren’t we in much better shape to serve the Lord, after a good night’s rest?  Let’s all commit to trusting Him, so that we might better serve Him.
